Pearl Boone "Momma Pearl" Phillips

"I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith... Sis. Pearl Boone " Momma Pearl" Phillips was born on December 6, 1919 in Union County, Arkansas the daughter of Charlie and Lucy Moore Boone. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 in the John R. Williamson Hospice House, El Dorado, Arkansas. Pearl united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age. She later united with the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where she remained until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, James Phillips and Bill Phillips, four brothers, Author Boone, Ocie Boone, Buddy Boone and Johnny Boone, two sisters, Nellie Frazier and Jessie Dawson. Momma Pearl leaves to cherish her loving memories, five sons, Willie Phillips, Charleston, Virginia, Bobby Phillips, Aubrey Phillips, Edward Phillips and Maurice Phillips all of El Dorado,Arkansas; four daughters, Queen Wilson, Margaret Phillips, Gracie Mosley and Barbara Haymon all of El Dorado, Arkansas; two sisters, Gracie Manning and Mary Dawson both of El Dorado, Arkansas; twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren. A homegoing celebration for Momma Pearl will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas with the Rev. Felton Burgie officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Lisbon Cemetery, El Dorado, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 16, from 11:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The family will be at 550 Beverly Drive, Apt. 202, El Dorado, Arkansas.
