"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course...II Tim. 4-7. Sister Tressie Carter was born on December 24, 1925 in Summerfield, Louisiana, the daughter of Earlie and Lovinia Thompson Hill. She was a member of Little El Bethel in El Dorado, Arkansas. She worked at Hudson Nursing Home as a Certified Nurses Assistant. Tressie was married to Kay Carter. Her parents, her husband, one son, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her loving memories; four sons, Leonard Carter of St. Louis, Missiouri, Troy Carter of El Dorado, Arkansas, Michael Carter of Junction City, Arkansas and Anthony Carter of North Carolina; two daughters, Betty Fergurson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Gladys Richards of Junction City, Arkansas; 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends. A homegoing celebration for Sis. Carter will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Little El Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Community Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 from 9:00am-5:00pm and Wednesday,from 8:30-11:00am.
