"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith..." Sister Elizabeth Templeton was called to labor on July 29, 1907 in Idabell, Oklahoma to the parents of Jessie and Rosie Allen. On Tuesday, September 30, 2008 while in the comforts of her earthly home, the Lord saw fit to call her into her eternal home. Elizabeth united with First St. James Baptist Church and remained there until she was granted her just reward. She was preceded in death by her parents and three children, Margaret Gordon, Alfred Henry and Helen Foster McGhee. Her loving memories will be cherished by her two sons, Ivory Famous and Ralph Williams; one daughter, Dorothy Jean Davis all of El Dorado, Arkansas; one brother, Matthew Allen of Decatur, Illinois; sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, seventeen great great grandchildren and two great great great grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends. A homegoing celebration for Sister Templeton will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Paradise Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Luther Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, El Dorado, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Sunday, October 5, from 2:00-5:00p.m. and Monday, October 6, from 8:30-9:30am.
