Tara Danita Gatson

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want"... God wanted to pick a lovely flower from his beautiful rose garden, on Monday, September 22, 2008 the Lord chose Tara Danita Gatson. Tara was born in Mt. Holly, Arkansas on August 23, 1960, the daughter of John T. and Sylvia Richardson Smith. She joined Sweet Cannan Baptist Church in Smackover, Arkansas at an early age before moving to Summit, New Jersey. Tara worked as nurse. She was loved by all who knew her and cared for many. She is preceded in death by her father, John T. Smith, her grandparents, AB and Hazel Richardson; her greatgrandparents, Mose and Luella Richardson. Tara leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband of 26 years, Hoby Glenn Gatson, Sr. of Summit, New Jersey; two sons, Hoby Glenn Gatson, Jr. and Reginald Smith both of Des Moines, Iowa; her mother and stepfather, Sylvia and Lenwood Cole of Smackover, Arkansas; a brother, Phillip Smith of San Pablo, California and one sister, Hazel Faye Edwards of Fredericksburg, Virginia; two grandchildren, Miss Courtney Renee Smith and Master Hoby Glenn Gatson III; a host of nephews and nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. A homegoing celebration for Tara will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas with the Rev. Felton Burgie officiating. Interment will follow in the County Line Cemetery, Spearsville, Louisiana under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 8:30am-5:00p.m. and Sunday, September 28 from 10:00am-12:30pm.
