Garland Bass, 72, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.He was born on Aug. 9, 1942, to the Duffer and Lillie Mae Waller Bass. He was a member of Union Arc Baptist Church in Dodge City, attended Rosenwald Elementary and high school in Junction City, and was employed by Allied Construction in Dallas.He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, T.W. Bass, Emanual Bass, and Samuel Bass; and two sisters, Precious Gilmore and Annie Mae Levingston.He is survived by four brothers, Cleo Bass of Los Angeles, Deotis Bass of Haynesville, La., Dovie Bass of Homer, La., and Bennie Bass of Dodge City; and three sisters, Fannie Mae Weaver of Dallas, Dorothy Jacob and Tessie Easter, both of Dodge City.Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until noon Saturday at Sims Mortuary.Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Arc Baptist Church in Dodge City with the Rev. Joseph Waller officiating. Interment will be in the Union Arc Cemetery.
