Sister Fannie Lee Talley Thompson was born September 11, 1925 in Spearsville, Louisiana to Henrietta Watson Talley and James Talley, Sr. Sister Thompson departed this life on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Medical Center of South Arkansas. She united with the Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church at an early age; she was a Deaconess, member of the Sanctuary Choir and Circle Esther. Sister Fannie Lee Thompson was married to the late Calvin Mitchell, Sr. In 1970, she united in holy matrimony to O. T. Thompson. She was the Mother of nine children. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Calvin Mitchell, Sr.; two sons, Calvin Mitchell, Jr., Larry White; two sisters, Clora Conley, Loraine Bluford; three brothers, Curley Talley, Sandy Talley, James Talley. She leavers to cherish her memories; her husband, O. T. Thompson, seven sons; Alvin Mitchell, James Mitchell, Jimmy(Annie)Mitchell, Roy(Bertha)Mitchell, Richard Williams, Kenneth Williams, Eddie(Ella Mae) Lyons all of El Dorado, Arkansas; one daughter, Earnestine White of El Dorado, Arkansas; one sister, Christene Snowden of Phoenix, Arizona; one stepson, C.H. Thompson of St. Louis,Missouri, one stepdaughter, Dorothey Thompson of El Dorado, Arkansas; 41 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A homegoing celebration for Sister Thompson will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church@Trinity Baptist Church, 1400 Trinity Street, El Dorado, Arkansas with Rev. Eugene J. Farley, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Arlington Memorial Gardens, El Dorado, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 from 9-5pm and Thursday, August 7, from 8:30-9:30am.
