Dewey Winston Ross

Dewey Winston Ross was born on July 20, 1944 in Smackover, AR the son of Willie and Mary Lewis Ross. He departed this life on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Medical Center of South Arkansas, El Dorado, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James Ross, Elmer Ross and Johnny R. Ross, and one sister Aristene Ross. Dewey attended Smackover Training School and was a 1965 graduate. He served six years in the US Air Force and six years in US Army. After his second honorable discharge from the armed forces he relocated to Flint, MI where he was employed with General Motors for fifteen years. Dewey gave his life to Christ at an early age and rededicated his faith and united with the First Baptist Church, Smackover, AR where he served faithfully. Dewey was a dedicated employee of Lockheed Martin for 31 years. He is survived by his wife, of 29 years Annie Marie(Ree)Jones of Smackover, AR; four sons, Sgt. Dameion C. Jones of Destin Florida, Adrion T. Jones, Dewey Jerod Ross and Jordan T. Jones all of Smackover, AR; three brothers, Richard L. Ross and Joe L. Ross both of Flint, MI and Lawrence Ross of Smackover; two sisters Ernestine Hildreth of Louann, AR and Nancy Moore of Flint, MI; nine grandchildren. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, January 3, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, No visitation at the funeral home, the remains will be placed in the church at 10:00 a.m. for viewing. No viewing after the funeral service. Homegoing services for Dewey will be Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Connection International Church, Camden, AR with Rev. Jacovis Davis. Interment will follow in the Sweet Home Cemetery, Smackover, AR under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff.
