Charles Lindsey was born on December 22,1922 in Dubach, Louisiana the son of Oscar and Sula Palmer Lindsey. He departed this life on Monday, December 23, 2013 after celebrating his birthday on the 22nd at the Timberlane Nursing and Rehab Center, El Dorado, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Tommy Lindsey, six sisters, Alberta Lindsey, Lurene Lindsey, Luendy Lee, Ruby Creer, Rosie Barnes and Hattie Oliver. Bro. Lindsey was a faithful member of Zion Watch Baptist Church where he served until his health failed. He was retired from Georgia Pacific. He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Bobby Creer of El Dorado, Arkansas, Charles Bowens of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two daughters, Rosemary Sanders and Faye Glover(Jackie)all of El Dorado, Arkansas; sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grand children and two great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, December 27, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A family hour Friday, from 5-6 p.m. A Homegoing Celebration for Bro. Lindsey will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Watch Baptist Church, Shoute Division, El Dorado, Arkansas with Rev. D. R. Dredd officiating. Interment will follow in the Beech Hill Cemetery, Mt. Holly, Arkansas under the professional direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. .
