"The Lord is my Shepherd" Sis. Rose Mary Moore of Lancaster, California begn her Earthly journey on Monday, July 11, 1955 around 3:00 a.m. in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was the second child born to John Fermon and Alfriza Matthews Moore. At an early age, Rose Mary united with First Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas. Most recently, she united with the Wayside Christian Church in Lancaster, California where she was a member of the church choir. She was a volunteer for Jackine Robinson Park in Sun Village, California and assisted wherever she was needed. However, she did more directing than assisting! Rose Mary attended Watson Elementary School and Barton Junion High School. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1973. After high school, she attended Southern Arkansas University, El Dorado Branch and later completed a Word Processing Course at Lawton Business School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Rose Mary was employed in various positions. She was a Sales Representative for Sears and a Teacher's Aide for Fairview Preschool. She was later employed in accounts payable for Murphy Oil Corporation and a clerk for Big Lots. Most recently she was employed as an In-Home Care Provider and for the Regis Corporation in Lancaster, California until her health began to fail. Although Rose Mary did not have any biological children of her own, she was like a mother for her siblings' children, as well as her great nieces and nephews. Our precious Rose began her Heavenly journey on Thursday, June 5, 2008 a 1:55 a.m. at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center in Lancaster, California. She was preceded in death by her father, John Fermon Moore, a baby sister, Alfriza Anita Moore, her paternal grandparents, John and Rosie Lee Mack and her maternal grandparents, Jeff and Savannah Matthews. Rose leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Alfriza Moore of El Dorado, Arkansas; her siblings, one brother, John Fermon Moore, Jr. of Palmdale, California; two sisters, Melwyn J. Johnson-Primus(Moses) and Lillie Ruth Edmondson both of Lancaster, California; Her uncles and aunts, Jeff Matthews, Jr.(Gloria) and Gene Matthews; Annie Pearl Cameron, Juanita Matthews, Elsie M. Robinson, Margie Plummer, and Evelyn J. Christopher(Gegory); her nephews and nieces, Gerrard, Tamara, Freida(Robert), LaTara, Victor "JoJo", Justin, Jamonte', Jamareal and Meshayle(Jason). She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews, many cousins, extended relatives and friends. A homegoing ceremony for Rose Mary will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church- Cordell, El Dorado, Arkansas with the Rev. Pierce Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemterey, Homer, Lousiana under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 1-5pm and Thursday, June 12, from 8:30-9:30am.
