"The Lord is my Sheperd" Mr. Elgie Lee Richard was born on August 1, 1939 in Mt. Holly, Arkansas, the son on Levy and Edna Mae Jones Richard. He was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member until his health failed. Mr. Elgie attended Washington High School and was a member of the class of 1959. He served in the United States Navy for 6 years and later served in the National Guard,where he was discharged with an honorable discharge. His hobby was taking pictures with his camera. He was a truck driver for Welsco and retired as an operator. Mr. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Celia Mae Richard of El Dorado, Arkansas; one son, Elgie R. Richard, Jr. of Topeka, Kansas; two daughters, Crystal Grant and Tracey Wallace both of Topeka, Kansas; one sister, Bessie Crawford of Topeka, Kansas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Homegoing services for Mr. Richard will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Misionary Baptist, ElDorado, Arkansas with Bishop George Calloway officiating. Interment will follow in the Lott Burgy Cemetery, El Dorado under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from 2-5pm and Wednesday, April 30, from 8:30-10:30am. A family hour will be held on Tuesday, from 6-7pm.
