A Chapter Completed, A Page Turned ... A Life Well Lived, A Rest Well Earned Florence Cobb was born April 30,1925 in El Dorado,Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Pete Ganter and Marie Bray Ganter. She accepted Christ at an early age and united and was baptized at Zion Watch Missionary Baptist Church. She later united with Star Light Baptist Church and served in many capacities there. Her desire was to return to her beginning , Zion Watch. She returned home and remained a member until death . Florence's church servitude include President/Instructor of the Usher Board; President of the Mission Society; Choir Member, President of Pastor Aide, Youth Director and Church Mother.She was also very active in the NAACP; PTA, Order of the Eastern Star and coached community softball and basketball teams. On Tuesday May 28,2013 the Angels came to Corner Stone Long term Healthcare in Jacksonville,Arkansas and ushered her home . She was preceded in death by her parents , her husband Willie A Cobb Sr., two infant daughters,two infant sons ,a brother Jesse Ganter, and two sisters;Margie Ganter and Minnie Ganter Cook. Survivors include six daughters; Freddie Mae Murphy Of Atlanta,Ga; Pasty Staggers(Tommy) and Jacqueline Jackson of Little Rock,Ar; Thelma Davis, Thelma, Clevester, Sharon Modica (Kenneth) of El Dorado,Ar. Three sons; Alfred Hert (Radica) of Los Angles , Ca; Willie A. Cobb,Jr. (Regina); and Wayne Cobb of El Dorado,Ar ; 31 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and 27 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces,nephews,cousins and friends. A special care giver,Sharee Easter. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, May, 31, 2013 and on Saturday June 1 ,2013 from 8:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. . A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,June 1,2013 at Zion Watch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. D. R. Dredd officiating. .Burial will follow in Zion Watch Cemetery Services are under the direction of Sims Mortuary, Inc.
