"The Lord is my sheperd, I shall not want". Bro. Carvin Wilson "Tom" Kendrix was born on April 27, 1926 in Union County, Arknasas, the son of Ed and Emma Henry Kendrix. He departed this life on Friday, February 8, 2008 in the Medical Center of South Arkansas, El Dorado, Arkansas. Carvin united at an early age with the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Urbana, Arkansas. He retired from Georgia Pacific where he worked as a machine operator. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Eddie W. Kendrix, Jimmy Kendrix and Robert Kendrix; three sisters, Daisy Watson, Nellie Ruth Ewing and Arnice Lee. Carvin united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mary Alice Bridges Kendrix and to that union six children were born; Helen, Carvin, Bobie, Glenda Sue, Murlinda and Eddie. He later married Alverine Mack White. Mr. Tom leaves to cherish his loving memories; his wife Alverine Kendrix of Urbana, Arkansas; two sons, Eddie Kendrix and Carvin Wilson Kendrix, Jr. both of Urbana, Arkansas; four daughers, Helen Wallace and Murlinda Fay Hill(Van) all of Urbana, Arkansas, Bobbie Barnes(Robert) of Ashtabula, Ohio and Glenda Sue Penister(Shumpart) of Arlington, Texas.; four sisters, Carrie Buggs and Orlee Coefield both of El Dorado, Arkansas, Rosie Mae Wallace(Odell) of Huntsville, Texas and Betty Rawls of Pontiac, Michigan. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends. A homegoing celebration for Mr. Kendrix will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Urbana Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, February 15, 2008 from 9:00-5:00pm and Saturday, February 16, from 8:30-11:00 a.m.
