"Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.." John 14:1 Bro. Eddie Charles Glover was born on October 4, 1937 in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Rev. Eddie L. Glover and the late Effie Tee Glover. He was the youngest of 5 children. At an early age he united with St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Later he united with Zion Watch Baptist Church and remained a faithful member,serving as deacon, deacon chairman, brotherhood president, vice president of the senior citzen ministries, he also served as a mason, sang in the male choir. He was a member of the Gospel Group, The Mighty Gospel Voices for many years. He started his childhood schooling at Union School for Blacks when the School was segregated, he started attending Washington High School where he graduated in 1956. He met a young woman who became the love of his life, Jennie B. Miles. Eddie and Jennie was united in Holy Matrimony on July 10, 1956 and to this union eight children were born. He started working at an early age driving pulp wood trucks where he got the nickname "Sawdust". Later after years of driving pulp trucks he drove 18 wheelers, hauling wood chips. Then for another 18 years of 18 wheeler hauling. 10 years he drove for Lion Oil Refinery until his near tragic-accident that led him to early retirement. Although he was retired Bro. Eddie remained a hard worker doing for his family, friends and others all around. He was world known. He continued doing things he loved best until his health started to fail. Bro. Eddie on Saturday Evening around his family at his home went to be with the Lord, January 19, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 49 years, Jennie Bee Glover; a brother, Cleo Glover and a sister, Annie B. Ford. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his eight children; three sons, Clifford Glover, Ricky Glover and Calvin Glover all of El Dorado, Arkansas; five daughters, Bobbie Seals of Texarkana, Texas, Linda(Melvin)Thomas, Janet(Greg)Bankston, Vicky(Steve)Miller and Lakesha Glover all of El Dorado, Arkansas; two brothers, Rev. Otis(Faye)Glover of Richmond, California and Robert Glover of El Dorado, Arkansas; two sisters, Ruth Simon of Portland, Oregon and Johnnie Mae McMurran of Oakland, California; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a Special Friend, Mary Easter; a host of nephew, neices, other relatives and firends. A Homegoing Celebration for Bro. Glover will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Watch Baptist Church with the Rev. D. R. Dredd officiating. Intement will follow in the Zion Watch Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visiation at the Funeral Home will be Friday, January 25, 2008 from 9:00am-5:00pm and Saturday, January 26,from 8-9am.
