"Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name." Psalm 103:1 A Time to be Born: On the 27th day of October, 1950, fall was the season when Sis. Deloise Jean Mixon was born to Ellis Parker, Sr. and Mayola Gaines Parker. A Time to Change: At a very early age she accepted Christ, was baptized and became a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Urbana, Arkansas. Education: She attended Urbana Jr. High School and was a graduate of Gardner High School with the Honor of Valendictorian of her class in 1968. She later attended Mt. View Jr. College in Dallas, TX in which she achieved her Realtors License. A Time to work:In her early years she was a Realtor, she also was a dedicated employee of Georgia Pacific Company for 14 years until her retirement in 2006. A Time to Laugh: She devoted her heart and soul, traveling and sharing time with her family and friends. A Time of Mourning: Her mother, Mayola Parker; two brothers, King David Parker and Ellis Parker, Jr.; her sister, Clistine Evans. A Time for Goodbye: Our creator called home his beloved daughter on January 13, 2008. She leaves her cherished memories to her loving daughter; Nicole Jenkins(Lester) and her loving son, Ricky Parker all of Dallas, Texas; her father, Ellis Parker, Sr. of Urbana, Arkansas; one brother, Curtis Parker(Debra) of Urbana, Arkansas; two sisters, Mary Ann Owens(Arthur) of Dallas, Texas and Sherry Levingston(Herman) of Urbana, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Markeith, Ke'Ambra, Shaquay, Sir Kendrick, Master Nikolas and Ricky Parker, Jr., Adarian and Jalen Jenkins. She also leaves the one who made her complete, David(Diddywolf)Childress, neices, nephews a host of other relatives and friends. A Homegoing Ceremony for Sis. Mixon will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Urbana, Arkansas at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Daniel King officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 9-5pm and Saturday, January 19, from 9-11am. A family hour will be Friday at the Funeral Home at 7:00pm.
