Elizabeth Laverne Brown

"A loved Mother has departed form this earth fro another land.." The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." Sis. Elizabeth Laverne Brown was born on January 23, 1930 in Haynesville, Louisiana the daughter of Hezekiah and Minnie White. She departed this life on Thursday, December 14, 2007 in Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport,Louisiana. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Haynesville where she served as a member of the choir and home mission as well as other organizations and auxillaries. She was a Eastern Star. She worked as a nurse's aide and a cafeteria worker in Haynesville. Sis. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, five sisters and one son, Dr. Willie D. Brown. She leaves to cherish her loving memories; her husband, J.D. Brown of Haynesville, Louisiana; one son, David Brown of Mansfield, Texas; seven daughters, Bonnie Richardson, Bettie Ruth Thomas, Linda Levingston, Brenda Bradford all of Haynesville, Louisiana, Emma Lou Armstrong of Chicago, Illinois,Minnie Roberts of Tampa, Florida and Sandra Ward of Germany. A celebration of her life will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, Haynesville, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. C.W. Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Cemtery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff of El Dorado, Arkansas. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Friday, December 21, 2007 from 9-5pm and Saturday, December 22, from 8:30-11:00am. A family hour will be on Friday, December 21, 2007 from 6-7pm at Friendship Baptist Church.
