Mary Willie Howard

"Let not your heart be troubled" Sis. Mary Willie Howard was born on May 1, 1913 in Stephens, Arkansas to Charlie Howard and Fannie Baxter Wiley. She moved to El Dordo where she remained until her death. She worked as a domestic and was committed, dedicated and devoted to all she encountered. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church for over 30 years. Later,she joined Greater Paradise Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. E. A. Porchia. She was a faithful member of Circle Naomi, Sunday School Class of Sarah and president of the Pastor's Aid until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son John Broadnax, one brother, Jessie Howard, seven sisters, LuEtta Kilgore, Ellen McAdoo, Poetrie Harris, Magdalene Voice, Addie Jackson, Bessie Danzy and Pearl Foreman. Mary leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Janice Marie Bush(Frank) of El Dorado, Arkansas; one sister, Flossie Howard of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Angella Cannion, Andrea Jones, Frank Corey Bush, Dennis Broadnax(Sarah) and Denise Brooks; eight great grandchildren, Gregory Cannion, Khouri Bush, Daron Broadnax, Cheleria Broadnax, Dennis Broadnax, Jr., Layoya Brooks, Ariel Brooks and Alicia Mitchell; Six great-great grandchildren, Makiah Cannion, Mylah Cannion, Jacobi Broadnax, Mackenzie Broadnax and Karringtyn Brooks; Cherished brother in love, Robert Bailey(Margie), Cherished sister in love Queen(Momma) Mitchell. A number of nephews, nieces and a host of friends. A celebration of Mrs. Howard's life will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. E. A. Porchia officiating. Interment will follow in the Lott Burgy Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Vistation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 30, 2007 from 9:00am-5:00pm and Saturday, December 1, 2007 from 8:30-9:30am.
