Betty Joyce Thompson

"Let not your hear be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:1 Sis. Betty Joyce "Boone" Thompson was born on May 18, 1955 in Lisbon, Arkansas, the daughter of J. W. and Alberta Waldon McElroy. She worked as a cook. Betty united with Mt. Zion Lisbon at an early age where she was a very faithful member. She later joined Little Bethel Baptist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas where she served as pianist and served in other organizations until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her father, J.W. McElroy and her husband, Henry Thompson. Betty leaves to cherish her loving memories her mother, Alberta Waldon of El Dorado, Arkansas; a brother Mike Fogle; three sisters, Joanne Hinton, Diane Berry (Joe) and Kay Waldon all of El Dorado, Arkansas. Homegoing Services for Sis. Thompson will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Mt.Zion Lisbon Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Lisbon Cemtery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the Funeral Home will be Friday, October 5, 2007 from 8:30am-5:30pm and Saturday, October 6, 2007 from 8:30-11:00am.
