"And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was." Bro. James Donald Bryant(J.D.) was born on May 30, 1924 in El Dorado, Arkansas, the son of John D. and Mary Ganner Bryant. J. D. graduated from Washington High School, El Dorado, Arkansas and after graduation enlisted in the United States Navy, he did a tour of Japan and served for 4 years in World War II. After service he moved to Joliet, Illinois in 1951 where he met and married Ida McDonald and to that union two children were born, Lizell Bryant, Sr. and Diane Bryant. After retiring he moved back to El Dorado, Arkansas where he became a member of St. Vestal C.M.E. Church. He was faithful until his health failed. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a devoted brother-in-law, Oliver Williams. He leaves to cherish his memories; one son Lizell Bryant, Sr. of Joliet, Illinois and one daughter, Diane Bryant Lovett of El Dorado, Arkansas; seven very special grandchildren, his grandsons, Lizell Bryant, Jr., William Bryant(Becky) and Rovin Bryant all of Joliet, Illinois,Jamel Bryant of Texarkansas, Arkansas and his baby, Courtney Bradley of El Dorado, Arkansas; his granddaughters, Toyetta Winfrey(Omari) of Joliet, Illinois and Lafonda Williams of Georgia; A very, very special friend, Jim and Claudia Snowden, Chris Miles and Aileen Davis. Homegoing Services for Bro. Bryant will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vestal C.M.E. Church, El Dorado, Arkansas with the Rev. Monteal Rhynes officiating. Interment will follow in the Lott Burgy Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be, Friday, June 29. 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 30, from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
