"And peace I leave with you... On June 15, 2007, Mrs. Samantha Brown Easter boarded a flight of spiritual transition to be with the Lord. Samantha Brown Easter(Lady Girl) was born April 23, 1930, a life long resident of El Dorado, Arkansas until moving to Kansas City, Missouri in March of 2007. Mrs. Easter was the eighth of nine children of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Miller, all deceased. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Ms. Willie M. Burke of Kansas City, Missouri, Ms. Marilyn Brown of Van Nuys, California; one Foster daughter, Ms. Brenda Sue Moye of Kansas City, Missouri; a step-son, Mr. Willie Dean Easter and his family of Stephens, Arkansas; one nephew, Mr. Darryl Miller and his family of El Dorado, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Ms. LaTunya M. Burke of Kansas City, Missouri, Mr. Kevin Moye of El Dorado Arkansas and Ms. Nikita Moye of Huntsville, Alabama; three great-grandchildren, Ms. Terracina M. Burke, Ms. Briana Strother, and Mr. Carlton Strother all of Kansas City, Missouri; two great-great grandchildren, Michael D. Bell, Jr., Zaiden Pierce of Kansas City, Missouri and a host of family and friends. Samantha dedicated her life to helping the sick, shut-in, and the elderly and performed countless hours of community service. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Sr. Choir and a member of Lily of the Valley Chapter No. 20 O.E.S. but most of all she was a child of the King. Homegoing Services for Sis. Easter will be held on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 12 Noon at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas with the Rev. Donald R. Dredd officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, El Dorado, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. No visitation at the funeral home. Visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. No viewing after services began.
