Deacon Odell "Winky" Stewart was born August 3, 1946 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Mr. L.C. Stewart and the late Mrs. Alice Mae Levinston. He departed this life's journey on Tuesday evening, June 5, 2007 at Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, Arkansas. At an early age he united with the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church No. 2 in El Dorado, Arkansas. Deacon Stewart served faithfully in the Brotherhood Ministry, Choir Ministry and as a devoted Deacon. Deacon "Winky" Stewart was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, friend and caregiver to many. He was a gentle soul who touched the hearts of many. He loved sports. He spent many days watching his children and grandchildren in many different sport activities. When he was not watching his family play sports, one of his favorite pass times was wathcing his favorite Baseball team the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his favorite Football team the Washington Red Skins. Deacon Stewart loved and cherished the time he spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father grandfather, relative and friend to many. Another favorite pass time was gardening. He loved being outdoors planting and growing flowers and vegetables. Anyone who knew him loved and enjoyed his good cooking. There is no mistaking, Deacon Stewart loved being in the Church and singing for the Lord. All that knew Deacon Stewart felt his love for the Lord, through his actions and his smile that would light up the room. He united in holy matrimony to Nancy J. Culp on June 6, 1967. They shared a lifetime of love and togetherness. Deacon Stewart is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Mae Levinston; and his grandparents, Cecil and Fannie Levinston. He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his wife, Nancy J. Stewart of El Dorado, Arkansas; one son, Orlando Odell Stewart of El Dorado, Arkansas; one daughter, Nichelle Denise Stewart-Page(Bobby) of Camden, Arkansas; three brothers, Joel Stewart(Effie) of El Dorado, Arkansas, Larry Stewart of Detroit, Michigan and Gregory Hunter of El Dorado, Arkansas; four sisters, Adell Delphin(Richard) of El Dorado, Arkansas, Marjore Odom, Linda Stewart, and Veronica "Natta" Walker all of Detroit, Michigan; three grandchildren, Jacqueline Janell Stewart of Mark Tree, Arkansas, Corneliess M. Page and Michael Ray Page of Camden, Arkansas; a faithful Sister-in-Law, JoAnn(Chester)Ford of El Dorado, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Homegoing Services for Deacon Stewart will be held on June 10, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church No. 2. with the Rev. Felton Burgie. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemtery, Lisbon, Arknasas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the Funeral Home will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 10, 2007 from 11:00 to 12:00 Noon.
