Melton Bullock

Deacon Melton "Nunk" Bullock was born on September 2, 1936 in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana to the late Mr. Odell and Mrs. Lola Faulk Bullock. He departed this life's journey on Friday evening, April 20, 2007 at Beverly Healthcare Facility in El Dorado, Arkansas At an early age he united with the Mt. Calm Baptist Church located in Summerfield, Louisiana and later moved his membership to New Bethel Baptist Church. Upon returning to El Dorado, he united with St. John Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a Deacon, Brotherhood President, member of the Golden Age Ministry and Sunday School Teacher in which for many years he taught his beloved class, "The Soul Brothers." Nunk was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and caregiver to many. He was a gentle soul. If you really wanted to get him to talking, just start talking about the Bible or Ja'Margie and Ja'Mia. He dearly loved his family and church,most of all he loved God. He dutifully served two years in the United States Air Force, eighteen years as a long-haul driver and sixteen years with the City of El Dorado. He united in holy martimony to Hattie Green Williams on August 24, 1984 in El Dorado,Arkansas. Nunk leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Hattie Bullock of El Dorado, Arkansas; two brothers, James Reginald Bullock of El Dorado, Arkansas and Roy(Earnestine)Bullock of Los Angeles, California; two sisters, Christine Gilbert Waters of Miami, Florida and Betty Bullock of El Dorado, Arkansas; a step daughter; Jacqua Williams, two grand-daughters, Ja'margie and Ja'Mia all of El Dorado. A special cousin and niece who were raised as his sisters, Earlene "Nick" Sherman of Bernice, Louisiana and Marinetia "Netia" Jones of El Dorado and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Homegoing Services for Bro. Bullock will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. St. John Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Dobson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Summerfield, Louisiana under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the Funeral Home will be Friday, April 27, 2007 from 9:00a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 28, from 8:00-10:30a.m. The family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. on Friday.
