"I have kept the faith..." II Tim. 4:7 Curtis Carey was born in Mt. Holly, Arkansas on November 28, 1931 the son of Lannie and Girthy Elliott Carey. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Curtis united with New Hope Baptist Church at an early age. He served in the Armed Forces of the United States. He was ranked as Private First Class. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan after 32 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Troy Carey, Wallace Carey, John E. Carey and Robert Carey and four sisters Ethel Sturges, Nell White, Hazel Burnett and Louise O'Guinn. He leaves to cherish his loving memories a sister Mildred Miller of Detroit, Michigan and a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. A Homegoing Celebration for the life of Bro. Curtis Carey will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011@11:00 a.m. at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Felton Burgie officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery, Mt. Holly, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, March 11, 2011 from 9:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m.and Saturday, March 12 from 8:30to 9:30 a.m. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Curtis Carey, please visit our flower store.
