Sis. Emmer Lee Davis was born on May 14, 1928 in Strong, Arkansas to the late Charlie and Addie Lee Richards Washington. She united with Eastside Baptist Church and later became a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess and a faithful member until her health began to deteriorate. She was carried into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 17, 2007. She was an exceptional cook and employed by various restaurants throughout her adult life. She was married to the late L.J. Davis and Hosie L. Durden who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded by two daughters, Ruby Jean Davis and Robinette Davis, one son, Marlon Kenneth Davis; one sister, Pearlie Mae Wright and two brothers, Felton Lee Washington and James Vestal Washington. She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Hosie l.(Thelma)Durden of St. Louis, Missouri and Michael T.(Tracey)Davis of Ft. Hood, Texas and one daughter; Carolyn Davis of el Dorado, Arkansas; two brothers, L.T.(Gladys)Washington of Calion, Arkansas and Jessie(Geneva)Washington of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Irene Davis; one sister, Myrtle(Waddie)Johnson and one step-brother Emory(Robertine)Cheatham all of El Dorado, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Homegoing Services for Sis. Davis will be held on Friday, April 20, 2007, 11:00 am at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas with the Rev. Barry Dobson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethelhem Cemetery, Strong, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home, Thursday, April 19, 2007 from 10:00am-5:00pm and from 8-9am on Friday, April 20, 2007. The family will receive friends at 1448 Bock Street, El Dorado, Arkansas.
